As a keen observer of nature, M. Wheeler's art is generally representative in style, however, it contains abstract elements as well. Her landscapes are sweeping and yet intimate revealing her ability to capture a moment in time, feel the breeze or catch the scent of the earth. She rarely works from reference photographs, preferring to express the whole of the experience, both seen and unseen. Her art is currently in private collections in the United States and in private and corporate collections in Canada.

M. Wheeler is currently working on a new series of oil paintings expressed through a fantasy lens. The diverse cultural, racial and ethnic history of Winnipeg, Manitoba and surrounding prairie landscape are the focus of her latest endeavor.
